was the abode of Dr. M. M. Thomas, the Indian theologian and social thinker.
MM’ passed away on the Bhopal day in 1996, leaving behind this space—Pennamma Bhavanam--to his friends, colleagues, and comrades. The Thiruvalla Ecumenical Charitable Trust and the Thiruvalla Sangham, a trust and a fellowship founded by MM have been entrusted the responsibility to keep this space alive and relevant.
It has been just over a decade that we have been striving to keep Pennamma Bhavanam as a mother home for students and youths for diverse expressions of the liberative faith in response to contemporary social realities, and the programmes convened by the centre are for facilitating their enquiries. The house provides a variety of resources to assist the students, youths, laity, clergy, and activists in their creative endeavours. There is a large community of friends and well wishers spread all over the world which supports the functioning of the home and shares the vision.
